Supramax Tonnage Chartering Head

A leading international ship operating firm is looking for a Supramax Chartering Manager to be based in their Singapore office and lead the team sourcing Tonnage from the region and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Management of 4 person team.
• Supramax vessel chartering-in/operating.
• Liaising with other affiliate offices and assisting the activities of these offices.
• Working with cargo team to operate vessels profitably.
• Developing new business and clients.
• Preparing charter parties and/or other necessary shipping documentation.
• Undertaking business trips to see clients, as necessary.

Requirements:

• Good quality undergraduate degree from recognized institution or other shipping qualification.
• 5-10 years' experience working on Supramax Tonnage sourcing in the Pacific region.
• Good knowledge of Supramax dry bulk trades.
• Dynamic and ambitious team player with a proven track record in chartering.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers and other key industry stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and English language proficiency is essential.
• Chinese or other Asian language ability is an advantage, but not essential.
