Senior Panamax Chartering Broker

On behalf of a well-established foreign broking firm, with offices in the US and Shanghai, traditionally very strong in the grain market, we are conducting a search for Panamax brokers, to join the expanding Shanghai office.

Candidates should be experienced brokers with, ideally, 10/15 years in the dry cargo broking market (preferably currently working in the Panamax field), and with strong connections with mainland owners and charterers. The client would like to see a good and varied fixture list, which can be further expanded on in future.

Responsibilities:

• Fixing Panamax (and sometimes other) size business with Chinese principals.
• Liaising with the US office, to maximise business across the group.
• Expanding and developing contacts with principals on both the owning and chartering sides.
• Preparing necessary fixture documentation, where required.

Requirements:

• Degree or other shipping qualification
• Prefer 10/15 years' experience in dry bulk sector (preferably Panamax)
• Strong communication skills and good English ability.
