Chartering Manager - Dry Cargo Operator

On behalf of a Singapore-based Dry Cargo Operator, with affiliates in the Middle East and India, we are looking for a Chartering Manager to be based in their Singapore office.

Candidates should have around 2/4 years' experience in and knowledge of the dry bulk cargo shipping industry in South-East Asia and/or the Indian Ocean/Middle East. The successful candidate will almost certainly be a Singaporean national, from an owning or operating or broking background.

Responsibilities:

• Liaising with other affiliate offices and assisting the activities of these offices
• Handling chartering work related to the company's own in-house cargoes and vessels
• Handling ship operation, liaising with vessel, port agents, authorities etc.
• Fixing cargoes and/or vessels as required
• Developing new business and clients
• Preparing charter parties and/or other necessary shipping documentation
• Undertaking business trips to see clients, as necessary

Requirements:

• Good quality undergraduate degree from recognized institution or other shipping qualification
• At least 2/4 years of work experience in the dry cargo shipping industry (commercial shipping, active Supply or Demand side or shipbroking)
• Experience in developing customer relationships and credibility in engaging with customers at different levels
• Experience in negotiation
• Evidence of industry networking
• Strong communication skills and business fluency in English.
