Dry Cargo/Shipbroking Operations

On behalf of a major international broking group, we are looking for Japanese- speaking professionals to work in the Operations Dept. of it's Dry Cargo Shipbroking desk in Tokyo.

Candidates can come from any geographical location, but should have good experience in both voyage and time-charter business, and be able to adapt to new surroundings, principals, markets and cultures.

Responsibilities:

• Liaising with brokers in Tokyo and other offices and assisting their activities.
• Handling post-fixture and operations work related to dry cargo charters.
• Handling ship operation, liaising with vessel, port agents, authorities etc.
• Dealing with post-fixture matters and assisting with claim resolution.
• Assisting with preparation of charter parties and/or other necessary shipping documentation.
• Undertaking business trips to see clients, as necessary.

Requirements:

• Degree or shipping qualification or practical shipping knowledge.
• Min 2/5 years' experience.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Good English language ability is essential, and Japanese language ability very strongly preferred.
